كِتَاب الرَّهْنِ
The Book of Mortgaging In Places Occupied by Settled Population

بَابٌ في الرَّهْنِ فِي الْحَضَرِ:
(1) Chapter. The mortgaging in places occupied by settled population and the Statement of Allah: "And if you are on a journey and cannot find a scribe, then let there be pledge taken (i.e., mortgaging)…" (V.2:283)
2بَابُ مَنْ رَهَنَ دِرْعَهُ:
(2) Chapter. Mortgaging an armour.
3بَابُ رَهْنِ السِّلاَحِ:
(3) Chapter. Mortgaging the arms.
4بَابُ الرَّهْنُ مَرْكُوبٌ وَمَحْلُوبٌ:
(4) Chapter. It is permissible to mortgage an animal used for riding or milking.
5بَابُ الرَّهْنِ عِنْدَ الْيَهُودِ وَغَيْرِهِمْ:
(5) Chapter. Mortgaging things to Jews and others.
6بَابُ إِذَا اخْتَلَفَ الرَّاهِنُ وَالْمُرْتَهِنُ وَنَحْوُهُ فَالْبَيِّنَةُ عَلَى الْمُدَّعِي وَالْيَمِينُ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ:
(6) Chapter. If a dispute arises between the mortgagor and mortgagee, a proof is to be provided by plaintiff, otherwise the defendant has to take an oath (if he insists on denying the plaintiff’s claim).
