Chapter. Whoever sold the property of a bankrupt or a poor man and divided the money amongst the creditors or gave it (piecemeal) to the man to spend it on his affairs.
And Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that when the creditors became harsh in demanding their due regarding my father's debt, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) presented to them the option to accept the fruit of my garden. They refused, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not give them the garden nor had the fruit picked, but said, "I will come to you tomorrow." So the next morning, he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and prayed for blessing in the fruits. And I paid off all the debt from (that same garden).
Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: A man pledged that his slave would be manumitted after his death. The Prophet asked, "Who will buy the slave from me?" Nu'aim bin `Abdullah bought the slave and the Prophet took its price and gave it to the owner.
