بَابُ السِّوَاكِ:
Chapter. Siwak (to clean the teeth with Siwak which is a tooth brush in the form of a pencil from the roots of the Arak tree).
Hadith 244
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَسْتَنُّ بِسِوَاكٍ بِيَدِهِ ، يَقُولُ : أُعْ أُعْ ، وَالسِّوَاكُ فِي فِيهِ كَأَنَّه يَتَهَوَّعُ " .
Narrated Abu Burda: My father said, "I came to the Prophet and saw him carrying a Siwak in his hand and cleansing his teeth, saying, 'U' U'," as if he was retching while the Siwak was in his mouth."
وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : بِتُّ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاسْتَنَّ .
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I spent the night with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and (I saw that) he used the miswak.
Hadith 244
وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : بِتُّ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاسْتَنَّ .
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I spent the night with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and (I saw that) he used the miswak.

Hadith 245
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَشُوصُ فَاهُ بِالسِّوَاكِ " .
Narrated Hudhaifa: Whenever the Prophet got up at night, he used to clean his mouth with Siwak.
