كتاب الوضوءThe Book of Wudu (Ablution)
بَابُ لاَ يَجُوزُ الْوُضُوءُ بِالنَّبِيذِ وَلاَ الْمُسْكِرِ:
Chapter. It is unlawful to perform ablution with Nabidh (water in which dates or grapes etc. are soaked and is not yet fermented) or with any other intoxicant.
Hadith 242
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " كُلُّ شَرَابٍ أَسْكَرَ فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ " .
Narrated Aisha: The Prophet said, "All drinks that produce intoxication are Haram (forbidden to drink).
وَكَرِهَهُ الْحَسَنُ ، وَأَبُو الْعَالِيَةِ ، وَقَالَ عَطَاءٌ : التَّيَمُّمُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الْوُضُوءِ بِالنَّبِيذِ وَاللَّبَنِ .
Hasan al-Basri and Abu al-‘Aliyah considered it disliked, and ‘Ata’ says that performing tayammum is more preferable to me than performing ablution with nabidh (date-infused water) or milk.
Hadith 242
وَكَرِهَهُ الْحَسَنُ ، وَأَبُو الْعَالِيَةِ ، وَقَالَ عَطَاءٌ : التَّيَمُّمُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الْوُضُوءِ بِالنَّبِيذِ وَاللَّبَنِ .
