كتاب البيوعThe Book of Sales (Bargains)
بَابُ لاَ يُذَابُ شَحْمُ الْمَيْتَةِ وَلاَ يُبَاعُ وَدَكُهُ:
Chapter. The fat of the dead animal should not be melted, nor should it be sold.
Hadith 2223
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي طَاوُسٌ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، يَقُولُ : بَلَغَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ أَنَّ فُلَانًا بَاعَ خَمْرًا ، فَقَالَ : قَاتَلَ اللَّهُ فُلَانًا ، أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " قَاتَلَ اللَّهُ الْيَهُودَ ، حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الشُّحُومُ ، فَجَمَلُوهَا ، فَبَاعُوهَا " .
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Once `Umar was informed that a certain man sold alcohol. `Umar said, "May Allah curse him! Doesn't he know that Allah's Apostle said, 'May Allah curse the Jews, for Allah had forbidden them to eat the fat of animals but they melted it and sold it."
رَوَاهُ جَابِرٌ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
(The consensus of the majority of scholars is that whatever is forbidden to eat is also forbidden to sell.) This has been narrated by Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
Hadith 2223
رَوَاهُ جَابِرٌ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

Hadith 2224
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " قَاتَلَ اللَّهُ يَهُودَ ، حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الشُّحُومُ ، فَبَاعُوهَا وَأَكَلُوا أَثْمَانَهَا " .
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "May Allah curse the Jews, because Allah made fat illegal for them but they sold it and ate its price. "
