بَابُ شَهْرَا عِيدٍ لاَ يَنْقُصَانِ:
Chapter. The two months of Eid do not decrease.
Hadith 1912
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنَ سُوَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . ح وَحَدَّثَنِي مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " شَهْرَانِ لَا يَنْقُصَانِ : شَهْرَا عِيدٍ رَمَضَانُ ، وَذُو الْحَجَّةِ " .
Narrated Abu Bakra: The Prophet said, "The two months of `Id i.e. Ramadan and Dhul-Hijja, do not decrease (in superiority).
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ : قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : وَإِنْ كَانَ نَاقِصًا فَهُوَ تَمَامٌ ، وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : لَا يَجْتَمِعَانِ كِلَاهُمَا نَاقِصٌ .
Imam Bukhari, may Allah have mercy on him, said that Ishaq bin Rahwayh said (in explanation of this) that even if they are less, still (in terms of reward) the reward of thirty days is given. Muhammad bin Sirin, may Allah have mercy on him, said (the meaning is) that both cannot be incomplete (twenty-nine days each) in one year.
Hadith 1912
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ : قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : وَإِنْ كَانَ نَاقِصًا فَهُوَ تَمَامٌ ، وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : لَا يَجْتَمِعَانِ كِلَاهُمَا نَاقِصٌ .
