Narrated Ibn `Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "Amongst the trees, there is a tree, the leaves of which do not fall and is like a Muslim. Tell me the name of that tree." Everybody started thinking about the trees of the desert areas. And I thought of the date-palm tree but felt shy to answer the others then asked, "What is that tree, O Allah's Apostle ?" He replied, "It is the date-palm tree."
As Imam Humaydi said, according to Ibn ‘Uyaynah, the words «حدثنا», «اخبرنا», «انبانا», and «سمعت» were the same, and ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) also said likewise «حدثنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم», while he was the truest of the truthful. And Shaqiq narrated from ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud that I heard this from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Hudhayfah said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated to us two hadiths, and Abu’l-‘Aliyah narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he narrated from his Lord, and Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he narrated from his Lord. And Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrates this from your Lord, Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He.
