And ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: How good are the burdens on both sides and the burden in the middle. That is, in Surah Al-Baqarah, in this verse, glad tidings are given to those who are patient, those who, when a calamity befalls them, say: “Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” Upon such people are blessings and mercy from their Lord, and it is they who are rightly guided. And Allah has said in Surah Al-Baqarah: Seek help through patience and prayer. And indeed, prayer is difficult except for those who fear Allah.
