بَابُ مَا يُنْهَى مِنَ الْوَيْلِ وَدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ عِنْدَ الْمُصِيبَةِ:
Chapter. Prohibition of wailing and following the traditions of the Days of Ignorance when afflicted with a calamity.
Hadith 1298
حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ : ضَرَبَ الْخُدُودَ , وَشَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ , وَدَعَا بِدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ " .
Narrated `Abdullah: The Prophet said, "He who slaps the cheeks, tears the clothes and follows the traditions of the Days of Ignorance is not from us."
