The Book of Salat-Ut-Tahajjud (Night Prayer)
بَابُ التَّهَجُّدِ بِاللَّيْلِ:
(1) Chapter. The Tahajjud prayer at night.
2بَابُ فَضْلِ قِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ:
(2) Chapter. The superiority of Tahajjud prayer (i.e. the night prayer).
3بَابُ طُولِ السُّجُودِ فِي قِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ:
(3) Chapter. To perform a long prostration in the Tahajjud (night prayer).
4بَابُ تَرْكِ الْقِيَامِ لِلْمَرِيضِ:
(4) Chapter. Leaving the night prayer by a patient.
5بَابُ تَحْرِيضِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى صَلاَةِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّوَافِلِ مِنْ غَيْرِ إِيجَابٍ:
(5) Chapter. The Prophet’s ﷺ exhorting (the people) to Tahajjud and Nawafil without making them compulsory.
6بَابُ قِيَامِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى تَرِمَ قَدَمَاهُ:
(6) Chapter. Standing of the Prophet ﷺ [for the Salat (prayer)] at night.
7بَابُ مَنْ نَامَ عِنْدَ السَّحَرِ:
(7) Chapter. Sleeping in the last hours of the night.
8بَابُ مَنْ تَسَحَّرَ فَلَمْ يَنَمْ حَتَّى صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ:
(8) Chapter. Whoever took the Suhur (the meal taken before dawn in the month of Ramadan) and did not sleep before offering Fajr prayers.
9بَابُ طُولِ الْقِيَامِ فِي صَلاَةِ اللَّيْلِ:
(9) Chapter. To prolong the standing posture in the Tahajjud prayer.
10بَابُ كَيْفَ كَانَ صَلاَةُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَمْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ:
(10) Chapter. How was the Salat (Tahajjud prayer) of the Prophet ﷺ and how many Raka, he used to offer at night?
11بَابُ قِيَامِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِاللَّيْلِ وَنَوْمِهِ وَمَا نُسِخَ مِنْ قِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ:
(11) Chapter. The waking up of the Prophet ﷺ from his sleep for the night prayer and what (how much) was cancelled from the night prayer.
12بَابُ عَقْدِ الشَّيْطَانِ عَلَى قَافِيَةِ الرَّأْسِ إِذَا لَمْ يُصَلِّ بِاللَّيْلِ:
(12) Chapter. Satan’s tying of knots at the back of the head if one does not offer the night prayer.
13بَابُ إِذَا نَامَ وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ بَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ فِي أُذُنِهِ:
(13) Chapter. If one sleeps and does not offer Salat (prayer), Satan urinates in his ears.
14بَابُ الدُّعَاءِ وَالصَّلاَةِ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ:
(14) Chapter. Offering Salat (prayer) and invoking Allah in the last hours of the night.
15بَابُ مَنْ نَامَ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَحْيَا آخِرَهُ:
(15) Chapter. Sleeping in the first part of the night and getting up in its last part.
16بَابُ قِيَامِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِاللَّيْلِ فِي رَمَضَانَ وَغَيْرِهِ:
(16) Chapter. The Salat (prayer) of the Prophet ﷺ at night in Ramadan and (in) other months.
17بَابُ فَضْلِ الطُّهُورِ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَفَضْلِ الصَّلاَةِ بَعْدَ الْوُضُوءِ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ:
(17) Chapter. The superiority of remaining with ablution during the day and night and the superiorit of offering As-Salat (prayers) after ablution during the day and night.
18بَابُ مَا يُكْرَهُ مِنَ التَّشْدِيدِ فِي الْعِبَادَةِ:
(18) Chapter. It is disliked to exaggerate extremely in matters of worship.
19بَابُ مَا يُكْرَهُ مِنْ تَرْكِ قِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ لِمَنْ كَانَ يَقُومُهُ:
(19) Chapter. It is disliked for a person to leave offering the night SaIat after he has been used to (offering) it.
20بَابٌ:
Chapter.
21بَابُ فَضْلِ مَنْ تَعَارَّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَصَلَّى:
(21) Chapter. The superiority of one who wakes up at night and offers the Salat (prayer) with a loud voice.
22بَابُ الْمُدَاوَمَةِ عَلَى رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ:
(22) Chapter. Regularity of two Raka (Sunna) of the Fajr prayer.
23بَابُ الضِّجْعَةِ عَلَى الشِّقِّ الأَيْمَنِ بَعْدَ رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ:
(23) Chapter. To lie down on the right side after offering two Raka (Sunna) of the Fajr prayer.
24بَابُ مَنْ تَحَدَّثَ بَعْدَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ وَلَمْ يَضْطَجِعْ:
(24) Chapter. Whoever talks after offering two Raka (Sunna) (of the Fajr prayer) and does not lie down.
25بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي التَّطَوُّعِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى:
(25) Chapter. What is said about the Nawafil being offered as two Raka followed by two and so on.
26بَابُ الْحَدِيثِ، يَعْنِي بَعْدَ رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ:
(26) Chapter. To talk after offering two Raka (Sunna of the Fajr prayer).
27بَابُ تَعَاهُدِ رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ وَمَنْ سَمَّاهُمَا تَطَوُّعًا:
(27) Chapter. To offer two Rakat (Sunna) before the Fajr prayer and whoever called them Nawafil.
28بَابُ مَا يُقْرَأُ فِي رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ:
(28) Chapter. What is recited in the two Raka (Sunna) of the Fajr prayer.
29بَابُ التَّطَوُّعِ بَعْدَ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ:
(29) Chapter. To offer the Nawafil after the compulsory (congregational) Salat (prayers).
30بَابُ مَنْ لَمْ يَتَطَوَّعْ بَعْدَ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ:
(30) Chapter. Whoever did not offer the Salat (prayer) after the prescribed complusory (congregational) SaIat.
31بَابُ صَلاَةِ الضُّحَى فِي السَّفَرِ:
(31) Chapter. To offer the Salat-ut-Duha (forenoon prayer) in journey.
32بَابُ مَنْ لَمْ يُصَلِّ الضُّحَى وَرَآهُ وَاسِعًا:
(32) Chapter. Whoever did not offer the Duha prayer and thought it premissible (to offer it).
33بَابُ صَلاَةِ الضُّحَى فِي الْحَضَرِ:
(33) Chapter. To offer SaIat-ud- Duha when one is not travelling.
34بَابُ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ:
(34) Chapter. To offer two Raka before the Zuhr prayer.
35بَابُ الصَّلاَةِ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ:
(35) Chapter. The (optional) Salat (prayer) before the Maghrib prayers.
36بَابُ صَلاَةِ النَّوَافِلِ جَمَاعَةً:
(36) Chapter. To offer Nawafil in congregation.
37بَابُ التَّطَوُّعِ فِي الْبَيْتِ:
(37) Chapter. To offer the Nawafil prayers at home.
