بَابُ الْخُطْبَةِ قَائِمًا:
Chapter. To deliver the Khutba (religious talk) while standing.
Hadith 920
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا ، ثُمَّ يَقْعُدُ ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ كَمَا تَفْعَلُونَ الْآنَ " .
Narrated Ibn `Umar: The Prophet (p.b.u.h) used to deliver the Khutba while standing and then he would sit, then stand again as you do now-a-days.
وَقَالَ أَنَسٌ بَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا .
And Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was delivering a sermon while standing.
Hadith 920
وَقَالَ أَنَسٌ بَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا .
And Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was delivering a sermon while standing.
