Hadith 798

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ الْقُنُوتُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْفَجْرِ " .
Narrated Anas: The qunut [supplication before going down for prostration] used to be recited in the Maghrib and the Fajr prayers.

Hadith Commentary:

The meaning of this hadith is that Qunut Nazilah was recited frequently in these two prayers, because it is also established that Qunut Nazilah was recited in the Zuhr (noon) prayer, but in that prayer, it was observed only occasionally.
