Narrated `Abdullah: The Prophet said, "I saw (in a dream) a black woman with unkempt hair going out of Medina and settling at Mahai'a, i.e., Al-Juhfa. I interpreted that as a symbol of epidemic of Medina being transferred to that place (Al-Juhfa).

Hadith Commentary:
When the Muslims migrated to Madinah Tayyibah, at that time its climate was extremely bad and epidemic-ridden. The Muslims became ill, but as a result of the supplication of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), the atmosphere of Madinah became pleasant and its epidemic diseases were transferred to Hujfah, which was at a distance of six miles from Madinah Tayyibah, and at that time Jews were settled there and used to cause much harm to the Muslims. In a dream, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was shown this scene in a symbolic manner. And Allah knows best.
