Hadith 6999

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "I saw myself (in a dream) near the Ka`ba last night, and I saw a man with whitish red complexion, the best you may see amongst men of that complexion having long hair reaching his earlobes which was the best hair of its sort, and he had combed his hair and water was dropping from it, and he was performing the Tawaf around the Ka`ba while he was leaning on two men or on the shoulders of two men. I asked, 'Who is this man?' Somebody replied, '(He is) Messiah, son of Mary.' Then I saw another man with very curly hair, blind in the right eye which looked like a protruding out grape. I asked, 'Who is this?' Somebody replied, '(He is) Messiah, Ad-Dajjal.'"

Hadith Commentary:
This pertains to the realm of dreams; it is neither necessary nor mentioned here in what state you saw the Dajjal.
Regarding ‘Isa (alayhis salam), it is clearly stated that he was seen at the Ka‘bah performing tawaf (circumambulation), but there is no clarification regarding the Dajjal. Therefore, it is better to remain silent on this matter.

Hadith Commentary:

The intention of Imam Bukhari rahimahullah is that dreams seen during the day and night are equal and hold the same status, as is evident from the presented ahadith in which several dreams of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam are mentioned that he saw at night. All these dreams were true, based on reality, and correct and sound in their rank and status.

Nasr ibn Ya‘qub Dinawari states that the interpretation of a dream seen in the first part of the night is manifested after some delay. If seen in the second half, it appears somewhat sooner, and the interpretation of a dream seen at the time of sahar (pre-dawn) is manifested the quickest—especially whatever is seen in a dream at the time of the rising of Fajr, it very quickly takes on the form of reality.
