بَابُ: {وَكَانَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ قَدَرًا مَقْدُورًا} :Chapter. “And the Command of Allah is a decree determined.” (V.33:38)
Hadith 6604

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " لَقَدْ خَطَبَنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُطْبَةً مَا تَرَكَ فِيهَا شَيْئًا إِلَى قِيَامِ السَّاعَةِ ، إِلَّا ذَكَرَهُ عَلِمَهُ مَنْ عَلِمَهُ ، وَجَهِلَهُ مَنْ جَهِلَهُ ، إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَرَى الشَّيْءَ قَدْ نَسِيتُ فَأَعْرِفُ مَا يَعْرِفُ الرَّجُلُ إِذَا غَابَ عَنْهُ فَرَآهُ فَعَرَفَهُ " .
Narrated Hudhaifa: The Prophet once delivered a speech in front of us wherein he left nothing but mentioned (about) everything that would happen till the Hour. Some of us stored that our minds and some forgot it. (After that speech) I used to see events taking place (which had been referred to in that speech) but I had forgotten them (before their occurrence). Then I would recognize such events as a man recognizes another man who has been absent and then sees and recognizes him.

In one narration, Hudhayfah radi Allahu anhu said:
By Allah! I do not know whether my companions have truly forgotten or are only pretending to have forgotten.
By Allah! The leaders of the tribulations (fitan) that will come until the end of the world, each of whom will have three hundred or more followers—Allah’s Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not leave any of them out; he informed (us) of their names along with their fathers’ names and even the names of their tribes.
(Sunan Abi Dawud, Kitab al-Fitan wal-Malahim, Hadith: 4243)
In another narration, it is mentioned that whenever any of those events occur, I remember all of them, just as a person remembers someone’s face after he has left, and then after a long time, when he sees him, he recognizes him.

These are the tribulations (fitan) that Allah, the Exalted, has decreed, and they will certainly occur as the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has indicated. Thus, Hudhayfah radi Allahu anhu used to say:
“By Allah! I know all the tribulations that are to occur between me and the Day of Resurrection. This is because the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam specifically informed me about them in confidence; he did not inform anyone else besides me.”
(Sahih Muslim, Kitab al-Fitan, Hadith: 7262 (2891))

Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: From this hadith, it is understood that a time will come when the people of Madinah will be compelled to leave Madinah. However, what will be the reason for this, Hazrat Hudhayfah radi Allahu anhu was not able to ask the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
