Hadith Commentary:
There are many opinions regarding the children of the polytheists. Some have chosen to withhold judgment on this matter, and Allah knows best what will happen.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
There is a difference of opinion regarding the ruling on the children of disbelievers (kuffar).
It is mentioned in a hadith that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was asked:
“What will be the fate of the children of the polytheists?” He replied:
“They are with their fathers.”
Aishah (radi Allahu anha) says that I asked:
“Even without any deeds?” He replied:
“Allah knows best what they would have done.”
(Sunan Abi Dawud, Kitab al-Sunnah, Hadith: 4712)
In another hadith, it is stated that children are born upon the natural disposition (fitrah) of Islam, whether they are born to Muslims or to disbelievers, as is understood from the hadith presented by Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah):
(6599)
Some scholars have reconciled these narrations by saying that, in this world, these children will be treated as disbelievers; that is, after their death, they will not be given a ritual bath (ghusl), nor will the funeral prayer (salat al-janazah) be performed for them, nor will they be buried in the Muslim graveyard. After all, the offspring of snakes are also snakes.
In the Hereafter, their matter is referred to Allah, the Exalted.
Some scholars are of the opinion that the children of disbelievers who die in childhood will enter Paradise.
The inclination of Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) also appears to be that they will be in Paradise, as he has established a chapter in Kitab al-Jana'iz:
(Bab ma qila fi awlad al-mushrikin)
“What has been said regarding the children of the polytheists” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Kitab al-Jana'iz, Chapter: 92)
Furthermore, it is explicitly stated in Sahih al-Bukhari that the children of the polytheists are among the people of Paradise.
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Kitab al-Ta’bir, Hadith: 7047)
Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has mentioned several views in this regard, and then declared the position of Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) as the preferred opinion.
(2)
Some scholars are inclined to the view that Allah, the Exalted, will give them a command on the Day of Resurrection and test them; if they obey, they will be among the people of Paradise, otherwise they will be consigned to Hell.
(Fath al-Bari: 3/313)
And Allah knows best.
