قَالَ
أَبُو حَازِمٍ : فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ
النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي عَيَّاشٍ ، فَقَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي
أَبُو سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ لَشَجَرَةً يَسِيرُ الرَّاكِبُ الْجَوَادَ الْمُضَمَّرَ السَّرِيعَ مِائَةَ عَامٍ مَا يَقْطَعُهَا " .
Narrated Abu Sa'id: The Prophet said: There is a tree in Paradise (so huge) that a fast (or a trained) rider may travel: for one hundred years without being able to cross it.

At the end of a similar hadith narrated from Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu, he said:
If you wish to confirm this, then recite this verse of the Noble Qur’an:
“And extended shade.”

In a hadith narrated from Asma’ bint Yazid radi Allahu anha, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, while describing the Sidrat al-Muntaha, said:
“A rider can travel for a hundred years in the shade of its branches, or he will remain in its shade for a hundred years.”
(Jami‘ al-Tirmidhi, Description of Paradise, Hadith: 2541)

Hafiz Ibn Hajar rahimahullah writes that in the hadith presented by al-Bukhari, the tree referred to is the Sidrat al-Muntaha, as is evident from the hadith of al-Tirmidhi.
