If the people knew the reward for pronouncing the Adhan and for standing in the first row (in the congregational prayer) and found no other way to get it except by drawing lots they would do so, and if they knew the reward of offering the Zuhr prayer early (in its stated time), they would race for it and if they knew the reward for `Isha' and Fajr prayers in congregation, they would attend them even if they were to crawl.

Hadith Commentary:
In this hadith, firstly, the reward for general beneficence (raf‘ al-‘am) has been highlighted, and it has been explained that if someone takes even the smallest step to benefit the creation of Allah, then in the sight of Allah, it is such a great virtue that it alone can suffice for salvation in the Hereafter.
Then, the status of those who are martyred (shuhada’) in the path of Allah has been mentioned, whose five categories have been specified.
Then, the virtues of giving the call to prayer (adhan) and being present in the first row to perform the congregational prayer (salah) have been discussed.
After that, the merit of performing the Zuhr prayer at its earliest time has been mentioned.
Then, special attention has been drawn to the Fajr and ‘Isha prayers, and so on, regarding other virtuous deeds.
The narrations regarding delaying the Zuhr prayer during the summer have already been mentioned.
Here, apart from the summer, the virtue of performing it at its earliest time is stated.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
The mentioned hadith actually comprises three ahadith which Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) narrated in a single context. Perhaps he heard them from the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) in this very manner. (Sharh Ibn Battal: 2/280)
(2)
The meaning of *tahjir* is to come early for the prayer, but here what is meant is coming at the earliest time for the Dhuhr prayer, because this word is derived from *hajrah*, which is used for the intense heat of midday. The earliest time for the Dhuhr prayer is precisely this. The author inclines towards the view that Dhuhr prayer should be performed at its earliest time. Although there is an instruction to delay the prayer and perform it when it is cooler during intense heat, this instruction is not for obligation, because in this hadith, the virtue of coming at the earliest time for Dhuhr is mentioned. Besides this, if a person comes to the mosque at midday, engages in remembrance and contemplation in the mosque, and waits to perform the prayer at a cooler time, then for him as well there is great virtue with Allah. In the hadith, what is meant by outstripping one another is to come early, not to come running, because doing so is prohibited. (Fath al-Bari: 2/182)

Benefit:
The word «تَهْجِيرٌ» is derived from «هَاجِرَةٌ», which means "noon," because «هَجَرَ يَهْجُر» means "to leave," and at noon people leave their work due to the intensity of the heat and rest; therefore, noon is called «هَاجِرَةٌ». The purpose of the hadith is to convey that this is the reward and merit for going to offer the Zuhr (noon) prayer at its earliest time.
All three of these ahadith were narrated by Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) at one time, and those who came after him also narrated them in this way, even Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) compiled them together in this manner. Only the last hadith is related to the chapter.
