Narrated `Utban bin Malik Al-Ansari: who was one of the men of the tribe of Bani Salim: Allah's Apostle came to me and said, "If anybody comes on the Day of Resurrection who has said: La ilaha illal-lah, sincerely, with the intention to win Allah's Pleasure, Allah will make the Hell-Fire forbidden for him."

Hadith Commentary:
The correct affirmation of the Kalimah Tayyibah is that one’s actions and beliefs should also be in accordance with it; otherwise, merely reciting the Kalimah verbally is futile.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
The correct affirmation of the kalimah tayyibah is that one should also rectify one’s actions and beliefs in accordance with its requirements. Merely reciting this kalimah verbally, without the correctness of actions and beliefs, is futile.
(2)
It should also be clear that along with this affirmation, it is necessary to accept the messengership of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). If someone affirms divinity without accepting messengership, then that too is of no benefit.
Wallahu al-musta‘an.
