´Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet (s.a.w) said:` "The heart of an old man remains young because of love for two things: Long life , and much wealth."
Shaykh Dr. Abdur Rahman Freywai
Explanation: 1: The meaning is that the heart of an old person is filled with the desire for a long life and the love of abundant wealth, that is, despite being old, within him the greed for wealth and the wish for an increase in lifespan—these two desires remain youthful.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The heart of an old man remains young in two things: the love of wealth and the love of life." The narrator named Sufyan has sometimes used the word 'luxury' for (life).
Shaykh Muhammad Ibrahim bin Basheer
Benefit: In this hadith, the reality of the elderly person is described: that a human’s body and emotions may become old, yet his love for wealth and life remains youthful—that is, the love for these two things troubles him in old age just as it did in youth. And we observe this ourselves, that elderly people have a great love for wealth.
