Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said," Whoever says: "La ilaha illal-lah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahu-l-mulk wa lahul- hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shai'in qadir," one hundred times will get the same reward as given for manumitting ten slaves; and one hundred good deeds will be written in his accounts, and one hundred sins will be deducted from his accounts, and it (his saying) will be a shield for him from Satan on that day till night, and nobody will be able to do a better deed except the one who does more than he."

Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: From these ahadith of Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu), it is understood that adding to these words is desirable, and such addition becomes a cause for increased reward and merit. This is not like those matters in which neither decrease nor increase is permissible.

Explanation:
1:
There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone,
He has no partner or associate,
To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise,
He alone gives life and He alone causes death, and He has power over all things.

Benefits and Issues:
➊ The remembrance of Allah is the best means of attaining reward.
➋ Some forms of remembrance (adhkar) are a greater cause of reward than monetary charity and almsgiving.
➌ The prescribed (masnun) remembrance is a means of protection from Shaytan.
➍ There are so many blessings and benefits present in the prescribed (masnun) adhkar that there is no need to invent additional forms of remembrance alongside them. Moreover, self-invented forms of remembrance are not a cause of reward either.
