Hadith 6172

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Apostle said to Ibn Saiyad "I have hidden something for you in my mind; What is it?" He said, "Ad-Dukh." The Prophet said, "Ikhsa."

Hadith Commentary:
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) suspected that Ibn Sayyad might be the Dajjal.
In order to ascertain the reality of the matter, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) conceived Surah ad-Dukhan in his heart, then said to Ibn Sayyad:
“You claim to be a messenger; if you are truthful, then tell me what I have concealed in my heart?” Satan guided him only as far as the word “Dukh,” so he began to say, “Dukh, Dukh.”
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Wretched person, go away! Now you will not be able to go beyond your status.
Now you are no longer worthy of human dignity; rather, you have surpassed even the animals.”
