Hadith 6150

Narrated `Aisha: Hassan bin Thabit asked the permission of Allah's Apostle to lampoon the pagans (in verse). Allah's Apostle said, "What about my fore-fathers (ancestry)?' Hassan said (to the Prophet) "I will take you out of them as a hair is taken out of dough." Narrated Hisham bin `Urwa that his father said, "I called Hassan with bad names in front of `Aisha." She said, "Don't call him with bad names because he used to defend Allah's Apostle (against the pagans).

Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Dawood Raz
Hadith Commentary:
He used to satirize the polytheists and support the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
From this narration, the purity of soul, piety, and God-consciousness of Aisha (radi Allahu anha) become evident.
She was of such a high degree of purity and angelic character.
Since Hassan (radi Allahu anhu) had supported Allah and His Messenger, Aisha (radi Allahu anha) paid no heed to the harm she had received from him and forbade speaking ill of him.
May Allah the Exalted grant the Muslims a nature as virtuous as that of Aisha (radi Allahu anha), so that they refrain from speaking ill of one another among themselves.

Shaykh Abdul Sattar al-Hammad
Hadith Commentary:
Hazrat Hassan bin Thabit radi Allahu anhu was a poet who praised the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and whenever the polytheists would attack the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam with satire and slander, he would respond to them. However, unfortunately, he was among those who accused Aisha radi Allahu anha. Therefore, Hazrat Urwah asked Hazrat Aisha radi Allahu anha, "Why do you allow him to sit in your gathering?" She replied:
"Whatever he may be, he used to defend the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam." From this hadith, we learn about the purity of soul, religious devotion, and piety of Hazrat Aisha radi Allahu anha.
She did not care at all about the harm she had received from Hazrat Hassan radi Allahu anhu and forbade others from speaking ill of him.
