Hadith 6016

The word «يوبقهن» in the Noble Qur'an means "He destroyed them." The meaning of «موبقا» is "destruction."
Narrated Abu Shuraih: The Prophet said, "By Allah, he does not believe! By Allah, he does not believe! By Allah, he does not believe!" It was said, "Who is that, O Allah's Apostle?" He said, "That person whose neighbor does not feel safe from his evil."

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
This hadith demonstrates the great status of the neighbor, as the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) negated the faith of a person three times whose harm and troubles have made the neighbor’s life miserable. Although the negation of faith here refers to the negation of perfect faith, meaning that such a person does not possess complete faith, because this is a sin and disobedience, and the one who commits a sin does not exit the fold of faith.

(2)
A man came to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and complained about his neighbor. The Prophet said:
“Go, be patient.”
He came again, or came three times, so the Prophet said:
“Go, put your belongings in the road.”
So he went and placed his belongings in the road.
People began to ask him, and he informed them about his neighbor’s behavior.
The people began to criticize and reproach that neighbor, saying:
“May Allah do such and such to him.”
So that neighbor came to him and said:
“Go back to your house; from now on you will not see any disliked behavior from me.”
(Sunan Abi Dawud, Book of Manners, Hadith: 5153)
This hadith shows the method of remedying the harm and troubles caused by a neighbor.
And Allah is the One whose help is sought.
