Hadith Commentary:
(1)
In all these narrations, the act of attaching and having artificial hair attached has been declared a cause of curse. However, in the last hadith, there is no mention of attaching artificial hair. Imam Bukhari rahimahullah has alluded to those narrations in which this matter is explicitly stated, as those narrations have already been mentioned earlier. In one narration, a woman came to Abdullah ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu and said: "Do you forbid the woman who attaches artificial hair from this act?" He replied: "Yes," because the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam forbade this act. (Musnad Ahmad: 415/1)
(2)
Abdullah ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu deduced this prohibition from a verse of the Noble Qur'an, even though the narrations explicitly state that this act is a cause of curse in the sight of Allah and His Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. (Hadith: 5934-5935) The noble verse to which Abdullah ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu referred is this: "And whatever the Messenger gives you, take it; and whatever he forbids you from, abstain from it."
