Narrated `Abdullah: Allah has cursed those women who practise tattooing and those who get themselves tattooed, and those who remove their face hairs, and those who create a space between their teeth artificially to look beautiful, and such women as change the features created by Allah. Why then should I not curse those whom the Prophet has cursed? And that is in Allah's Book. i.e. His Saying: 'And what the Apostle gives you take it and what he forbids you abstain (from it).' (59.7)

Hadith Commentary:
Allah the Exalted has stated in the aforementioned verse that whatever command the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) gives you, you must accept it, and whatever he forbids you from, you must abstain from it.
From this verse, it is understood that accepting the instructions of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam)—which are also known as hadith—is obligatory.
This refutes the group of deniers of the Prophetic hadith, who, by rejecting the hadith of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), wish to mold the Qur’an according to their own desires. May Allah protect us from this misguided sect.
In this era of freedom, such people have caused considerable turmoil, continually attacking the faith of the general Muslims. Among them, some advocate for three daily prayers, others for two, and they have distorted the prayer itself according to their own whims and fancies.
May Allah guide them.

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
If the teeth are naturally joined together and touching each other, some women use a file or similar tool to create gaps between them so that when they smile, their teeth appear open and beautiful. Since this artificial beautification involves altering the creation of Allah, it is therefore religiously forbidden (haram) and a cause for curse. Generally, this procedure is performed on the front teeth.
(2)
Hafiz Ibn Hajar rahimahullah writes that elderly women do this so that they appear younger, because in youth, teeth are naturally spaced apart, but as age increases, the teeth naturally become joined together. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has also described this act as "evil" (sharr). He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has prohibited it. However, if this is done due to some ailment or hardship, then it is permissible. (Fath al-Bari: 10/456)
