Narrated `Aisha: Allah's Apostle said, "O followers of Muhammad! There is none, who has a greater sense of Ghira (self-respect) than Allah, so He has forbidden that His slave commits illegal sexual intercourse or His slave girl commits illegal sexual intercourse. O followers of Muhammad! If you but knew what I know, you would laugh less and weep more!"

Hadith Commentary:
(1)
In this hadith as well, the mention of Allah’s “ghayrah” (protective jealousy) occurs, which should be understood in its true, literal meaning. To interpret it otherwise is contrary to the way of the pious predecessors (salaf).
(2)
In this hadith, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) has described the evil consequences of adultery (zina), for he is fully aware of its outcome. Furthermore, he said: “If you were to become aware of the conditions of the Hereafter that are before me, you would weep constantly and never be able to laugh.” And Allah knows best.
