Hadith 5170

حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ بَيَانٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا ، يَقُولُ : " بَنَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِامْرَأَةٍ فَأَرْسَلَنِي ، فَدَعَوْتُ رِجَالًا إِلَى الطَّعَامِ " .
Narrated Anas: The Prophet consummated his marriage with a woman (Zainab), so he sent me to invite men to the meals.

Hadith Commentary:
In this hadith, the woman referred to is Zaynab radi Allahu anha, as clarified in another narration which states that when the people finished eating and left, two men remained there conversing. Then, in that narration, the revelation of the verse of hijab is mentioned.
