Hadith 5051

And the statement of Allah, «فاقرءوا ما تيسر منه‏»: "So recite whatever is easy for you from it."
Narrated Sufyan: Ibn Shubruma said, "I wanted to see how much of the Qur'an can be enough (to recite in prayer) and I could not find a Surah containing less than three Verses, therefore I said to myself), "One ought not to recite less than three (Quranic) Verses (in prayer)." Narrated Abu Mas'ud: The Prophet said, "If somebody recites the last two Verses of Surat al-Baqara at night, it will be sufficient for him.

Hadith Commentary:
From this it is understood that in prayer, reciting at least two verses as recitation is also sufficient. The intention of Imam Bukhari rahimahullah is to clarify this very issue, and this is the explanation of "whatever is easy for you of it" (ma tayassara minhu).

Hadith Commentary:

It is understood from this hadith that in prayer, reciting at least two or three verses is sufficient.

There are two possibilities regarding the sufficiency of two verses mentioned in the hadith.

How many verses at minimum is it sufficient to recite in prayer?

How much Qur’an, in general, is sufficient to recite in a day or night? In any case, specifying a particular portion is not established from the Book and the Sunnah, because the noble verse () is absolute, which includes even less than that.
And from the hadith, reciting at least two verses is established as sufficient.
And Allah knows best.
