Hadith 490

وَأَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَنْزِلُ فِي الْمَسِيلِ الَّذِي فِي أَدْنَى مَرِّ الظَّهْرَانِ قِبَلَ الْمَدِينَةِ حِينَ يَهْبِطُ مِنَ الصَّفْرَاوَاتِ يَنْزِلُ فِي بَطْنِ ذَلِكَ الْمَسِيلِ عَنْ يَسَارِ الطَّرِيقِ وَأَنْتَ ذَاهِبٌ إِلَى مَكَّةَ لَيْسَ بَيْنَ مَنْزِلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبَيْنَ الطَّرِيقِ إِلَّا رَمْيَةٌ بِحَجَرٍ .

This stage is mentioned by the name of Maraz-Zahran.
The people of that area call this place Batn Marw.
It is a valley from where the distance to Makkah Mukarramah remains only 16 miles.
At this place, which is a water passage, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) stayed. Also, the flow of this water is not towards Makkah, but rather towards Madinah Tayyibah.
