Hadith Commentary:
In the first hadith, it is explicitly stated that Abdullah bin Mughaffal al-Muzani radi Allahu anhu is among those who participated in the Pledge of Ridwan (Bay‘at al-Ridwan).
Imam Bukhari rahimahullah’s purpose in mentioning this hadith is precisely this.
The purpose of presenting the second hadith is to establish that ‘Uqbah bin Sahban heard (had direct transmission) from Abdullah bin Mughaffal al-Muzani radi Allahu anhu; thus, this is explicitly stated in it.
