Mujahid said (regarding what is in Surah Saba) «ويقذفون بالغيب من مكان بعيد‏» its meaning is that they keep throwing pellets of the unseen from afar. And «يقذفون من كل جانب‏» means that the devils are struck from every side. «ولهم عذاب واصب‏» means everlasting punishment (or severe punishment). «تأتوننا عن اليمين‏» means that the disbelievers will say to the devils, "You used to come to us from the side of the truth." «غول‏» means pain in the belly (or headache). «ولا هم ينزفون‏» nor will their intellect be impaired. «قرين‏» devil. «يهرعون‏» are driven. «يزفون‏» running with feet placed close together. «وبين الجنة نسبا‏» The disbelievers of Quraysh used to consider the angels as Allah's daughters and their mothers as the daughters of the chiefs of the jinn (fairies). «ولقد علمت الجنة إنهم لمحضرون‏» means that the jinn know that they will have to be present for reckoning on the Day of Resurrection, and Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said «لنحن الصافون‏» this is the saying of the angels. «صراط الجحيم‏», «سواء الجحيم» both mean «وسط الجحيم‏», that is, in the midst of Hell. «لشوبا‏ من حمیم» means that boiling hot water will be mixed in their food. «مدحورا‏» rejected. «بيض مكنون‏» pearls strung together. «وتركنا عليه في الآخرين‏» its good mention was kept among later people. «يستسخرون‏» they mock. «بعلا‏» means Lord, deity (in the language of the people of Yemen). «اسباب» refers to the heavens.
