Hadith 4783

نَحْبَهُ : عَهْدَهُ ، أَقْطَارِهَا : جَوَانِبُهَا ، الْفِتْنَةَ لَآتَوْهَا : لَأَعْطَوْهَا .
The meaning of «نحبه» is one's covenant and pledge. The meaning of «أقطارها» is from the edges. The meaning of «لآتوها» is to accept, to join in.

Explanation & Benefits
Maulana Dawood Raz
Hadith Commentary:
What he had said, he demonstrated by action—he attained the rank of martyrdom in the battlefield of jihad with utmost eagerness.
Many other mujahideen of similar stature have passed, such as Anas ibn Nadr and others.

Hadith Commentary:

What Hazrat Anas bin Nadr radi Allahu anhu said, he demonstrated in action by eagerly offering his life on the battlefield of jihad, as is evident from the following narration.
Hazrat Anas bin Malik radi Allahu anhu says:
My uncle, Hazrat Anas bin Nadr radi Allahu anhu, could not participate in the Battle of Badr.
He said:
O Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam! I was absent from the first battle you fought against the polytheists.
If now Allah Ta’ala grants me the opportunity to be present in any battle against the polytheists, then Allah Ta’ala will see what I do. Then, when the occasion of the Battle of Uhud came and the Muslims fled, Hazrat Anas bin Nadr radi Allahu anhu said:
O Allah! I apologize for what the Muslims have done, and I disavow what the polytheists have done. Then he advanced forward and met Hazrat Sa’d bin Mu’adh radi Allahu anhu. To him, Hazrat Anas bin Nadr radi Allahu anhu said:
O Sa’d bin Mu’adh radi Allahu anhu! By the Lord of Nadr, I am indeed smelling the fragrance of Paradise near Mount Uhud, and I desire to enter Paradise.
Hazrat Sa’d radi Allahu anhu says:
O Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam! I did not have the courage to do what he did. Hazrat Anas bin Malik radi Allahu anhu says that after this, when we searched for Hazrat Anas bin Nadr radi Allahu anhu, there were about eighty marks of swords, spears, and arrows on his body.
When he was martyred, the polytheists had mutilated his limbs.
No one could recognize him.
Only his sister recognized him by the tips of his fingers.

Hazrat Anas bin Malik radi Allahu anhu says:
According to our opinion, the following noble verse was revealed concerning him and those believers like him:
“Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah...” ()

Hazrat Anas radi Allahu anhu states that my name was given after my uncle Zayd bin Nadr radi Allahu anhu.
