Shaykh Abdul Sattar al-Hammad
Hadith Commentary:
➊
The blessings of Paradise that are mentioned in the Qur’an and Hadith—do not only mention these, for those that are stored with Him are far greater than these.
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) introduced the construction of Paradise in these words:
“In the construction of Paradise, one brick is of gold, one brick is of silver, and its mortar is of fragrant musk.
Its pebbles are diamonds, jewels, and rubies.
Its soil is saffron.
Whoever enters it will be prosperous.
He will never be miserable.
He will remain there forever and will not die.
His clothes will never wear out, nor will his youth ever end.”
(Musnad Ahmad: 305/2)
➋
Another aspect of Paradise is as follows, which should also be kept in mind.
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
“When Allah, the Exalted, created Paradise, He said to Jibril (alayhis salam):
Go and look at it. So he went and saw it, and saw what Allah, the Exalted, had prepared in it for its inhabitants. Then he returned and said:
My Lord! By Your honor! Whoever hears of it will surely enter it.
Then Allah, the Exalted, surrounded it with unpleasant things (hardships), then said:
Jibril! Now go and look at it.
He went and looked at it, then returned and said:
My Lord! By Your honor! I fear that not a single one will enter it.”
(Sunan Abi Dawud, As-Sunnah, Hadith: 4744)
