Ahmad bin Shabeeb bin Saeed said that my father (Shabeeb bin Saeed) narrated to us, from Yunus, from Ibn Shihab, and from him Khalid bin Aslam, that we went out with Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), and he said that this (aforementioned verse) was revealed before the command of Zakat. Then, when the command of Zakat was given, Allah the Exalted purified the wealth through Zakat.

Hadith Commentary:
Those wealthy capitalists who are devoted worshippers of wealth, who spend day and night filling their coffers and do not even know the meaning of spending in the way of Allah (fi sabilillah), the consequence of their wealth on the Day of Resurrection will be as mentioned in the verse and the hadith.

Hadith Commentary:
The following hadith further clarifies this matter, in which the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"Whoever does not pay the due right of gold and silver, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be made into plates of fire, and these will be heated in the fire of Hell, and then his sides, his forehead, and his back will be branded with them. When they cool down, they will be reheated, and this will continue throughout a day whose length is fifty thousand years. Eventually, when the reckoning of the servants is completed, he will be shown the path either to Paradise or he will be driven into Hell."
(Sahih Muslim, Al-Zakat, Hadith: 2290(987))
In any case, those capitalists and worshippers of wealth who are constantly busy day and night filling their coffers and never even think of spending in the way of Allah, the same outcome of their wealth will occur on the Day of Resurrection as has been described in the noble verse and the noble hadith.
May Allah protect us from it.
