Hadith Commentary:
Some people from the tribe of Banu Abdud-Dar among the disbelievers of Quraysh were carrying the banner of disbelief in the Battle of Uhud.
Allah Ta’ala declared them to be deaf, dumb animals, as they are heedless of the outcome.
Subsequent events confirmed that, in reality, such people were even worse than animals.
Because they did not concern themselves with their own end.

Hadith Commentary:

Among the disbelievers of Quraysh, some people from the tribe of Banu Abd al-Dar were carrying the banner of disbelief in the Battle of Uhud.
Allah Ta'ala has declared them as dumb and deaf animals, that these people are unaware of their evil end. Indeed, subsequent events confirmed this, as these people truly proved to be even worse than animals.

In any case, man is the noblest of creation and the master of the universe; these honors are only due to obedience to the Truth. When a person refuses to listen to, understand, and accept the truth, then all these honors are taken away from him, and he becomes even worse than animals.
And Allah knows best.
