The final command is general in nature: whatever drink causes the mind to become intoxicated, regardless of what it is made from, in any case, it is considered khamr (intoxicant).

Hadith Commentary:
➊
The final words of the hadith, in their generality, include everything that removes the intellect, regardless of what the drink is made from.
That is khamr, and drinking khamr is forbidden, whether it is made from grapes or from other things, whether it is used for drinking or for eating, such as opium and heroin, etc. In any case, whatever substance causes intoxication in large amounts, even a small amount of it is also forbidden.
According to other ahadith, making vinegar from wine and buying or selling it is forbidden.
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) cursed the following ten people in this regard:
"The one who produces wine, the one for whom it is produced, the one who drinks it, the one who carries it, the one for whom it is carried, the one who serves it, the one who sells it, the one who consumes its price, the one who buys it, and the one for whom it is bought."
(Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi, al-Buyu‘, Hadith: 1295)
➋
Despite the evil and prohibition of wine, near the end of times, attempts will be made to declare it lawful by giving it another name, as the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"There will be people in my Ummah who will declare fornication, silk, wine, and musical instruments lawful by giving them other names."
(Sahih al-Bukhari, al-Ashriba, Hadith: 5590)
The extent to which the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum ajma‘in) detested wine can be gauged from the following narration:
Hazrat Musa al-Ash‘ari (radi Allahu anhu) used to say: I do not care whether I drink wine or worship this pillar besides Allah.
(Sunan an-Nasa’i, al-Ashriba, Hadith: 5666)
