Hadith Commentary:
In the early days of Islam, it was made obligatory to migrate from Makkah to Madinah. Some weak individuals were unable to migrate and continued to live lives of hardship in Makkah; it was regarding them that this verse was revealed.

Hadith Commentary:
1.
The name of Ibn Abbas’s (radi Allahu anhu) mother was Lubabah bint al-Harith, and she was the sister of Umm al-Mu’minin Maymunah bint al-Harith (radi Allahu anha).
She had embraced Islam in the early days of Islam.
Due to her natural weakness, she was compelled to reside in Makkah.
Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) was also with her.
Both of them, due to their weakness and frailty, were included among those who were excused.
The kunya of Lubabah is Umm al-Fadl, and after Sayyidah Khadijah (radi Allahu anha), she was the first woman to embrace Islam.
In one narration, Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) said:
“My mother and I were among those weak people who could not find deliverance and escape in Makkah al-Mukarramah.”
