Hadith 4564

حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ آخِرَ قَوْلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حِينَ أُلْقِيَ فِي النَّارِ ، حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ " .
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The last statement of Abraham when he was thrown into the fire was:--"Allah is Sufficient for us and He is the Best Disposer (of affairs for us)." (3.173)

Hadith Commentary:
In this blessed phrase, there is a complete expression of tawhid (monotheism) and tawakkul (reliance upon Allah).
That is why it is an excellent phrase, through which, in times of hardship, one’s resolve and courage can be strengthened.
By reciting it regularly as a devotional practice (wazifah) without omission, divine help is attained, and by its blessing, every difficulty becomes easy.
In the Noble Qur’an, Allah the Exalted Himself instructed His Messenger to recite it, as mentioned in the verse:
﴿فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ﴾ (al-Tawbah: 129)
