Hadith 4374

I asked about the statement of Allah's Apostle : "You seem to be the same person who was shown to me in my dream," and Abu Huraira informed me that Allah's Apostle said, "When I was sleeping, I saw (in a dream) two bangles of gold on my hands and that worried me. And then I was inspired Divinely in the dream that I should blow on them, so I blew on them and both the bangles flew away. And I interpreted it that two liars (who would claim to be prophets) would appear after me. One of them has proved to be Al Ansi and the other, Musailima."

Hadith Commentary:
Aswad Ansi was killed during the lifetime of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) himself, and Musaylimah the Liar was eliminated during the caliphate of Siddiq Akbar (radi Allahu anhu).
Truth is always truth, and falsehood lasts only a few days before it is erased.
Today, there is not a single follower of Aswad or Musaylimah, while the followers of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) will remain until the Day of Judgment.
No matter how tirelessly the Christian missionaries work, they are still unsuccessful; Islam, as a result of its blessings, continues to spread on its own.
It is true:
The light of Allah laughs at the efforts of disbelief;
This lamp cannot be extinguished by blowing upon it.

Hadith Commentary:

Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab was included among the delegation of Banu Hanifah that came to Madinah Tayyibah in the 9th year of Hijrah, and this delegation consisted of seventeen individuals.
Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab held great status and honor among his people.
They used to call him "Rahman al-Yamamah."
While the other members of the delegation presented themselves before the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), Musaylimah, due to pride and arrogance, did not go to him. However, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), dealing with him graciously, himself went to him and took Thabit ibn Qays (radi Allahu anhu) along, so that the proof might be established against him and he might be warned of Allah’s punishment.
Eventually, when he claimed prophethood, he met his end in Hell at the hands of Wahshi (radi Allahu anhu) during the caliphate of Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (radi Allahu anhu).
(Fath al-Bari: 8/112, 113)

In reality, truth and right assert themselves, and falsehood lasts only for a few days before it is erased. Today, not a single follower of the claimant to prophethood, Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab, remains, whereas the obedient and devoted followers of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) will remain until the Day of Resurrection.
And Allah is the One whose help is sought.
