Hadith 4301

حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سُنَيْنٍ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا وَنَحْنُ مَعَ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، قَالَ : وَزَعَمَ أَبُو جَمِيلَةَ أَنَّهُ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَخَرَجَ مَعَهُ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ " .
Narrated Az-Zuhri: While we were in the company of the Ibn Al-Musaiyab, Sunain Abi Jamila informed us (a Hadith), Abu Jamila said that he lived during the lifetime of the Prophet and that he had accompanied him ( to Mecca) during the year of the Conquest (of Mecca).

Hadith Commentary:
Ibn Mandah, Abu Nu'aym, and Ibn Abd al-Barr have also mentioned him (Abu Jamilah radi Allahu anhu) among the Companions (radi Allahu anhum), and have stated that he was with the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) during the Farewell Pilgrimage (Hajjat al-Wada').

Abu Amr radi Allahu anhu has mentioned that Abu Jamilah participated in the Farewell Pilgrimage (Hajjat al-Wada') with the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

The majority of the scholars have stated that if a just and reliable contemporary of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam claims to be a Companion (Sahabi), then he is truthful in this claim.

Imam Bukhari rahimahullah has mentioned Abu Jamilah radi Allahu anhu in relation to the Conquest of Makkah under this heading.
