Hadith Commentary:
Imam Bukhari, for the sake of brevity, did not narrate the complete original hadith. He sufficed only with this sentence: that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) passed his hand over his (i.e., the narrator's) face in the year of the conquest of Makkah.

Hadith Commentary:
Imam Bukhari rahimahullah, for the sake of brevity, did not narrate the complete hadith but sufficed with only this phrase: that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam passed his hand over his (face) in the year of the conquest of Makkah.
In another narration of Sahih al-Bukhari, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam passed his hand over his eyes.
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Kitab al-Da‘awat, Hadith: 6356.)
It has also been said that at the time of the Messenger of Allah’s sallallahu alayhi wa sallam passing, his (the child’s) age was four years.
At the time of the conquest of Makkah, he was brought to the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and he passed his blessed hand over his head and face.
