بَابُ مَا أَصَابَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْجِرَاحِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ:Chapter. The wounds inflicted on the Prophet on the day (of the battle) of Uhud.

حَدَّثَنِي مَخْلَدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأُمَوِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ اشْتَدَّ غَضَبُ اللَّهِ عَلَى مَنْ قَتَلَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، اشْتَدَّ غَضَبُ اللَّهِ عَلَى قَوْمٍ دَمَّوْا وَجْهَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Wrath became severe on him whom the Prophet had killed in Allah's Cause. Allah's Wrath became severe on the people who caused the face of Allah's Prophet to bleed.

Hadith Commentary:

During the Battle of Uhud, an incident occurred in which Ubayy ibn Khalaf suddenly attacked the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and said:
"Today I will kill Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam)."
The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) replied:
"O liar! Rather, I will kill you."
After this, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) aimed carefully and struck such a blow that Ubayy was consigned to Hell and could not survive.
At that time, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) narrated this hadith.

The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) did not wish to strike anyone with his blessed hand, but it was the extreme wretchedness of this famous disbeliever of Makkah that he himself was consigned to Hell at the hands of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
‘Abdullah ibn Qami’ah also wounded the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and said:
"I am the son of the one who breaks (bones)."
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), while wiping the blood from his face, said:
"May Allah break you."
When this man returned to Makkah, Allah, exalted is He, set a mountain goat upon him, which continued to gore him with its horns until it tore him to pieces.
