Hadith Commentary:

The incident of the Battle of Uhud: when the Muslims were overtaken by panic and fled, at that time, except for Hazrat Talhah (radi Allahu anhu) and Hazrat Sa'd (radi Allahu anhu), no one else remained by the side of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
They risked their own lives to protect the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

In this hadith, the virtue of Hazrat Talhah (radi Allahu anhu) is mentioned, showing how courageous and steadfast he was.
Its details are mentioned in the following hadith.
In one narration, it is reported that someone asked Hazrat Uthman (radi Allahu anhu):
How did you come to know about this incident? He replied that these individuals themselves had informed him of it.

Hadith Commentary:

Benefits and Issues:
During the Battle of Uhud, when the tide of battle turned due to the mistake of the archers and chaos spread among the Muslims, only Hazrat Talhah and Sa'd (radi Allahu anhuma) from among the Quraysh remained with you, along with seven Ansar. All seven Ansar, while protecting you, were martyred one after another, so then only these two Qurayshis remained. Both of them were among the most skilled archers of the Arabs. They kept the attacking polytheists at bay by shooting arrows and, while protecting you, Hazrat Talhah's hand became paralyzed, and you declared him a living martyr.
