Hadith Commentary:
The Muhajirun also had three horses; for each horse, two shares were allotted from the spoils of war (mal-e-ghanīmah). Some people did not participate due to work-related reasons, but their share was still allotted to them from the spoils of war. In this regard, one hundred shares were fixed for the Muhajirun from the spoils of war.
Hafiz Ibn Hajar rahimahullah says that this explanation is good, but in my view, it is better that the total shares of the spoils of war were one hundred, from which twenty shares were taken out as khums, and the remaining eighty (80) shares were distributed among the Muhajirun.
The number of Muhajirun was approximately eighty (80); in this respect, one hundred shares of the spoils of war were made.
