Narrated Ibn `Abbas: regarding the Statement of Allah:--"Those who have changed Allah's Blessings for disbelief..." (14.28) The people meant here by Allah, are the infidels of Quraish. (`Amr, a sub-narrator said, "Those are (the infidels of) Quraish and Muhammad is Allah's Blessing. Regarding Allah's Statement:"..and have led their people Into the house of destruction? (14.29) Ibn `Abbas said, "It means the Fire they will suffer from (after their death) on the day of Badr."

Hadith Commentary:
By "blessing" (ni‘mah) is meant Islam and the noble person of the Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
The Quraysh did not value this blessing, the consequence of which was destruction and ruin.
The people of Madinah valued this blessing of Allah.
They were honored with dignity and respect in both worlds.
Radi Allahu anhum wa radu ‘anhu.

Hadith Commentary:
➊
In the mentioned verse, by Allah’s blessing is meant the religion of Islam and the noble person of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). The disbelievers of Quraysh did not value this greatest blessing; rather, they denied it and led their people—who had supported them in the Battle of Badr—into the pit of destruction. In contrast, the people of Madinah embraced this blessing wholeheartedly, and Allah, the Exalted, honored them in both worlds.
➋
The explanation of (dār al-bawār) has been given by the narrator in these words: that by it is meant the Fire into which they entered on the day of Badr, because whoever enters this Fire will be destroyed by it.
And Allah knows best.
