Hadith Commentary:
The martyrdom of Uthman al-Ghani radi Allahu anhu is one of the greatest tragedies in the history of Islam. Sa'id ibn Zayd radi Allahu anhu is expressing his sorrow over this and is saying that in the time of disbelief, Umar radi Allahu anhu had imprisoned him because he had accepted Islam.
Now, in this era, it is the Muslims themselves who are staining their hands with the innocent blood of such a venerable elder as Uthman al-Ghani radi Allahu anhu. Indeed, this incident is such that even Mount Uhud should move from its place in grief over it.
Among those who raised the banner of rebellion against Uthman al-Ghani radi Allahu anhu, the majority were people who were Muslims in name only and, in reality, hypocrites who wanted to scatter the unity of the Muslims.
For this purpose, these people, taking the support of some pretexts, raised the banner of rebellion and, by misleading some simple and straightforward Muslims, included them in their ranks as well.
In the end, these people martyred Uthman radi Allahu anhu and opened such a door of discord and turmoil among the Muslims that has not been closed to this day, nor is there any immediate hope of it being closed.
For details, volumes would be required, but it should at least be remembered that our master Uthman al-Ghani radi Allahu anhu was a true devotee of Allah and His Messenger, accepted in the Divine court.
Those who stained their hands with his innocent blood are deserving of every condemnation, and until the Day of Judgment, the majority of Muslims will remember them with reproach.
Since Sa'id ibn Zayd radi Allahu anhu is mentioned in the hadith, for this reason, this hadith has been included under this chapter.
It was Sa'id ibn Zayd radi Allahu anhu who was married to the sister of Umar radi Allahu anhu, whose name was Fatimah.
It was through her that Umar radi Allahu anhu accepted Islam.
In this era, some people are again searching for faults in Uthman al-Ghani radi Allahu anhu and disturbing the Ummah, whereas the reality is that Uthman radi Allahu anhu was not infallible (ma'sum). If some weaknesses occurred from him during his caliphate, they should be referred to Allah, and not be exaggerated in such a way that not only does it create ill feelings towards Uthman radi Allahu anhu, but also towards the entire group of Companions (Sahabah) among the Muslims. This is not a virtuous act.

Hadith Commentary:
➊
The martyrdom of Uthman (radi Allahu anhu) is a great tragedy in the history of Islam. Sa'id ibn Zayd (radi Allahu anhu) expresses his sorrow over this, saying that in the time of disbelief, Umar (radi Allahu anhu) had bound him because he had accepted Islam, but today, Muslims themselves are staining their hands with the innocent blood of a rightly guided Caliph, Uthman (radi Allahu anhu). This is such a dreadful act that, because of it, Mount Uhud should split apart and move from its place.
➋
It should be noted that in the house of Sa'id ibn Zayd (radi Allahu anhu) was Umar's (radi Allahu anhu) sister, Fatimah bint al-Khattab (radi Allahu anha). Because of her, Umar (radi Allahu anhu) accepted Islam. The details can be found in the books of history. And Allah knows best.
