Hadith Commentary:
1.
The incident of the jinn listening to the Qur’an occurred several times with the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
At times, Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radi Allahu anhu) was with him, and at other times he was not present, which is why he kept searching for the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) informed him that he had gone to recite the Qur’an to the jinn.
2.
In one narration, it is mentioned that a tree informed the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) about the jinn.
That tree was an acacia (kikar) tree.
