Hadith 3858

Narrated Abu 'Is-haq Saud bin Abi Waqqas: None embraced Islam, except on the day I embraced it. And for seven days I was one of the three persons who were Muslims (one-third of Islam).

Hadith Commentary:

Sa’d said this according to his own knowledge, otherwise before him, Ali, Khadijah, Abu Bakr, and Zayd had already embraced Islam. And perhaps all of these individuals accepted Islam on the same day—these (the aforementioned) at the beginning of the day, and Sa’d at the end of the day. Radi Allahu anhum ajma‘een.

Hadith Commentary:
Hazrat Sa'd (radi Allahu anhu) said this statement based on his own knowledge; otherwise, before him, Hazrat Ali (radi Allahu anhu), Hazrat Khadijah (radi Allahu anha), Hazrat Abu Bakr (radi Allahu anhu), and Hazrat Zayd bin Harithah (radi Allahu anhu) had already embraced Islam.
It is possible that all these individuals accepted Islam on the same day.
These personalities may have accepted Islam in the earlier part of the day, and Hazrat Sa'd (radi Allahu anhu) may have embraced Islam in the latter part of the day.
This can also be explained by saying that the aforementioned statement of Hazrat Sa'd (radi Allahu anhu) refers to adult males, and among them, only Hazrat Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (radi Allahu anhu) and Hazrat Zayd bin Harithah (radi Allahu anhu) were adults.
At that time, Hazrat Ali (radi Allahu anhu) was a minor, and Sayyidah Khadijah (radi Allahu anha) was a woman.
And Allah knows best.
