Harmala, the freed slave of Usama bin Zaid said that while he was in the company of 'Abdullah bin 'Umar, Al-Hajjaj bin Aiman came in and (while praying) he did not perform his bowing and prostrations properly. So Ibn 'Umar told him to repeat his prayer. When he went away, Ibn 'Umar asked me, "Who is he?" I said, "Al-Hajjaj bin Um Aiman." Ibn 'Umar said, "If Allah's Apostle saw him, he would have loved him." Then Ibn 'Umar mentioned the love of the Prophet for the children of Um Aiman. Sulaiman said that Um Aiman was one of the nurses of the Prophet.

Hadith Commentary:
The father of Ayman, that is, the first husband of Umm Ayman, was named Ubaydullah ibn ‘Amr al-Habashi. Ayman had been martyred in the Battle of Hunayn. It is this very Umm Ayman radi Allahu anha whose son is Usamah radi Allahu anhu.

Hadith Commentary:
The first husband of Umm Ayman radi Allahu anha was Ubayd ibn Amr ibn Hilal. From him, Ayman was born, who attained martyrdom in the Battle of Hunayn. After that, Zayd ibn Harithah radi Allahu anhu married her, and from their union, Usamah ibn Zayd radi Allahu anhu was born. In this way, Ayman and Usamah were maternal brothers.

When Abdullah ibn Umar radi Allahu anhu saw Hajjaj ibn Ayman being negligent in prayer, he said: "Repeat the prayer, because you did not perform the bowing (ruku‘) and prostration (sujud) properly during the prayer."

Since Abdullah ibn Umar radi Allahu anhu had witnessed the love of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for Zayd ibn Harithah, Umm Ayman radi Allahu anha, and their children, he deduced and said: "If Hajjaj ibn Ayman had been seen by the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he would certainly have loved him."

From this, too, the virtue of Usamah radi Allahu anhu and his family is established.
